Ghoulies! Well, not really… Creatures of all kinds!
I like the word Ghoulie a lot. I wish it weren’t already taken. I think a remake is in order.
Anyhoo. I was dusting up my character design skills and came up with the following. In other news, today’s lesson is, draw on nice paper with a nice pen, even if you think you are just doodling.
Okay — from the first few rows you get a sense of my style — simple shapes, cute, pretty standard. The “irregular” ones start when I decided to draw from wall and floor patterns again — same way I got rabbit with an afro. This page came from the patterned carpet.
These goblins are all from the roller-painted walls! I didn’t think they’d have enough texture to find faces, but there they were!
I am pretty jazzed about the green-arrow goblins. They’re so Ralph Bakshi, and so totally NOT MY STYLE. RALPH BAKSHI I AM ON TO YOU.
The dragon with the tie — I have no idea what happened there.
I foresee many interesting developments in my drawing skills this summer. OK, so ApeLad isn’t exactly sweating it, but MAYBE IN AUGUST HE WILL!
**Update 6/16**
Okay, just so everybody knows, Mariska Hargitay made her film debut in Ghoulies. Please remake immeds with cameo kthx.
Are we talking about the one in the third row that looks like an angry weiner? Cos that’s my favorite one, too.
I WANNA GO TO THE MALL!!!
He’s been at the imaginary pies!
It’s slightly too-fat Bloo!
